First Aid

Hi,

I am currently trying to figure out the loading problems. This max9 x86 worked on one of those systems that would not load the last build. However it won't load on my system any more. I don't know exactly what's going on, but at least it has something to do with the libguide.lib. Anybody with a x64 system with loading problems? I could recompile for those, too.
Btw. This has already a little optimization in the marching cubes code for the viewport mesh.
Best regards,
Dieter

Hi Dimo.
At first wana thank you for a realy greate plugin. )
Its very interesting.
I have a lot of tests with vrayiso_beta0.3_020707_RC3. Sadenly, but i dont have a new Vray build so i dont think i can continue my tests. (
But a have some proposition for a your plugin anyway. )
1) 3dsMax procedural engine to ignorant to create something interstins so i use external volume procedures. Here you can find just a few results:
http://img481.imageshack.us/img481/778/simb05il4.jpg
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/3069/simb07da9.jpg
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/3658/sim2sn0.jpg
http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/7240/sim3ie9.jpg
2) I see the Bug the Falloff radius its to small - holes in mesh.
3) Will be Great if falloff radius can be regulated by texture. Not volumetric, just a simple surfase texture. i think its not a problem to do.
4) This its more difficult idea - cut off any pieces by size criteria. For example - then volume part les then nedded its just deleted. Its take extra CP time but i think its will give Good result then i will not see some little pices flying around big mesh.
5) I think its will be god to make Optional on/off to generete Internal surface. for example then i want make it Glass like.

At lust... can you recompile it for RC3? :)

Thank you agains for your work. and i hope to see New updates soon. )

PS. sorry for my English

It's working fine here. Max9 x86 starts and the plugin works.

It works for me (max9). Well, it loads and does ok in viewport yet it renders nothing (like there is no this object, yet it is set to rendarable and visible in viewport). To render I have to convert it to standard mesh (collapse). Do you have any clues?

Shiva, great images. What maps have you used?

@shiva: You can download the new VRay from the Chaosgroup website
@M*: Make sure your system date is right. The betas have an expiration date and won't render the ISO after it has expired.

plugin won't work on VIZ 2008, does it revert to the same problem? or is it just not compatible with VIZ?

Strange things,

are you sure you don't have the beta 3 installed? Because that already expired in July.

@ m*
Can you send me an email to dieter.morgenroth(at)web.de? I will send you some builds to try out then. Perhaps I can find the problem.

My 3d max 8 (with vray rc3) and max 9 whith vray rc3 and rc5 (both 32bits) they didn't accept the FIN.
I tested all the 3 published packages.

Hi,
the FIN package is for VRay 1.5 final only! You can download this VRay version at the support section of the Chaosgroup site.

Hi Dimo...
I hame new idea... ))
Can you do 3d procedural texture of geometry offset? something like your Falloff control for ISO. It will give us more control on other 3d textures (such as cluster size, form, deformation) and ability to up on new level with your plugin. ;)

Max 9 on Vista with vray rc5 and plug in for rc5 iso. Iso doesn't seem to render, while it was ok with rc3 and rc3 iso.
